Scott, I don't agree with your point number 1 (Cost). The fact that hard drives are so cheap means the monthly fees for "server databanks" will also be very low. In theory, it should be cheaper to use these databanks, for several reasons: i) lower cost per megabyte for larger hard drives, ii) less waste of hard disk space, iii) IPs would buy storage in bulk and get discounts.

The other points are correct, but I think you forgot to mention the most important one: speed. Due to bandwith limitations access to remote storage is bound to be slow.

One big advantage of centralized storage is that you can access your data from anywhere if you have an internet connection. I think the NC will be a great success, but will coexist with the PC.
