Thanks, William. Hopefully, we are all rolling together. I try my best to teach the why of each and every prediction and stock pick. . . but I fear too many are playing my LONG picks as SWING plays. . . and that is bound to be a disappointment. If you think back to my 1.0 Long Portfolio, it had stocks like RNWK, now up 1450% or VRSN, DCLK or EXDS, now up about 1000%.
William, I know that you have the patience it takes to make the REAL money. . . but for the benefit of everyone else here. . .my point is this. . . if anyone played those near term over the past year, they probably made money. . . but if they held them long, they made a killing.
I fear too many of us are still overtrading, and not allowing the stocks we spend so much energy PICKING to have a chance to mature. Take OMX [Office Max] for instance. Most everyone said they bought it at $4.50 a few weeks ago. But how many were there to grab some profits today at $7.00??
Remember when we all loaded up with LQID and LDIG at about 17 bucks per share over the summer? How many are still holding those shares at 43 3/4 and 33 1/2, respectively. . .with LQID spiking to about $48.
Let me draw this analogy. . .
Have you ever noticed that on days you are not in a hurry, it only takes a minute to get through the checkout line? But when you are in a hurry, you tend to try to find that one line that is moving faster. . . so you stand in one line, then spot another that appears to be shorter and you run there, only to find that had you stayed where you were, you would have been checked out already, and now due to a price check, you shift again, and get behind a slow checker. . .etc. etc. .
Well, that is the way it is with stocks. Try to jump on the back of a momentum, and you generally find yourself left holding the bag. Yet, be there first, buy low and have patience, and you are the one selling your shares into the big spike.
Now I buy the breakouts on market moves like this one. . but the REAL money is being made with our unloved buys from several weeks ago.
Off-topic. . . .William: [I believe the very first time you told me I was "on a roll" was almost exactly 11 months ago. <g> Seems like yesterday.]
I am still expecting this rally to broaden out more into the small and micro-caps. . . .and when it does, the PATIENCE we showed through the year, will reward us greatly. The mania is just beginning.
