I think they may save more by screwing people than they lose on people like me tying up man hours. But that's just my guess. I'll never forget when the hospital tried to bill us 3000 dollars for a birth that was supposed to be 100% covered by our hmo. That was actually funny. It took 2 years to get it resolved. Of course I never paid them anything but they actually referred our account to a collection agency by mistake (uh...yeah...I believe that). Finally I threatened to sue all of them, and the whole matter just disappeared. I like threatening to sue bad people. I don't actually know how to sue anyone- I didn't practice that kind of law. But I know some of the words, and I sure as HELL know how to sound emotionally distressed.
