Re: Will the government want Microsoft to FURTHER LOWER the cost of Internet Explorer...

Paul,

Microsoft had about the same number of people working on IE and IIS as they had working on Win 95 and Win NT. They didn't give anything away for free. We all paid dearly for Internet Explorer when we bought computers that came with Windows as the OS whether we liked it or not.

The price for Internet Explorer was included in the price for Windows - and we consumers were given no opportunity to buy the Netscape product instead of the Microsoft product, we could only buy the Netscape product after we had already paid for the Microsoft product.

It's tough to sell a Chevrolet if every licensed driver has already been forced to buy a Ford.

Regards,

Dan
