(Nasdaq: AMLN - news) today announced that its lead diabetes drug candidate, SYMLIN(TM) (pramlintide acetate), produced a statistically significant lowering of the primary glucose control endpoint in a one-year, pivotal Phase 3 clinical study in type 1 diabetes. The Company has now completed its planned pivotal clinical activities for SYMLIN and is preparing mid-2000 regulatory submissions for type 1 and insulin-using type 2 diabetes in the US and Europe.
