Mike, I reckon the idea that technical people are no good at marketing and business management is malarkey. It is a useless generalisation. There are multitudes of successful businesses which are started by technical people and succeed hugely. Just one little example, I think Bill Gates is a registered Geek.

A bit like any generalisation, all that matters is how good the individual is. Judging by the history of the technical people who are in charge of Qualcomm, they seem to be very competent business managers.
