I snagged the kids computer to continue my thoughts on the Ariba/Siebel alliance.

I suggest a visit to ariba.com

Siebel Systems Forms Alliance with Ariba

"Business buyers and their suppliers need to
electronically integrate their business
processes to remain competitive in the Internet
age...This is a highly scalable, efficient model to
accelerate business-to-business eCommerce
integration."
-Tim Minahan
Director of e-Business Research
Aberdeen Group

Here we've got two companies firing on all cylinders. They both beat earnings expectations. They both have excellent management. What's very impressive is to take a gander at the buyer and supplier network of Ariba. All systems are go for this alliance to benefit both companies.

I know that you are questioning Siebel's share price appreciation, but believe me - this is a natural unleashing of investor's vision grasping what is ahead for this segment the next three years of staggering growth. I would expect that the Siebel/Ariba alliance is only one important step in a series of steps to position themselves for the future.
