i will post tomorrow morning why i think this little run has long legs.

the reasons i think cree remains very undervalued.

cree is going to increase production and yield 6x next year.

the end of next year a huge new factory comes on line.
that guarantees huge production increases for 2001.
cree has cash for the expansion. zero interest expense.
i believe the expansion after that is already being considered.

the current uses for cree's products is exploding...and new uses for SiC are already here.
cree has a patent protected process that gives them a virtual monopoly on high volume SiC production.

dips after runs are often caused by short selling.
cree already has a substantial short position.
that alone may be a deterrent to new shorts.
i had cree's trades running on my screen most of the day yesterday. i saw methodical and continuous 1000s buying all day long at the ask. this looked to me like someone establishing a large position...not short covering. it was certainly not a squeeze.

the ceo just introduced cree to 200 analysts and fund managers yesterday and today.
they are going to want some.
cree has good daily volume which means good liquidity to a fund manager.
with market cap now of over $1 billion, cree is in a range that many funds like.

the combination of the last two provides,
upward pressure and the shorts will be trying to get out on any dip...
providing downside protection.

the laser...do not forget the laser...
when we get the laser announcement, cree will double overnight.
i expect that to happen sometime next year...
probably mid-year.

cree is still undervalued.
cree's pe is still quite low for their current and projected growth.
cree is going to grow faster than all 4 of the following companies next year.

company pe

cree 98
aol 221
qcom 233
brcm 251
rmbs 265

i believe cree could easily double or better from here...and continue to make substantial gains next year on production increases.
the quarterly's and conference calls are going to be fun.

all of this is jmho.
this writer may have a position in this security.
