TO BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY EDITORS:

BridgeBand Communications Selects Interspeed DSL Access Router Family for
Deployment in the Northern U.S.

Montana-Based CLEC Cites Superior Integration and Ease of Use of Single Box
Architecture; Says Only Interspeed Could Support Aggressive Roll Out Plans

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Interspeed, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ISPD) today announced that BridgeBand Communications, Inc. has
selected the Interspeed 1000, Interspeed 500, and Interspeed DART Digital
Subscriber Line (DSL) Access Routers (DSLARs) to deliver high-speed Internet
access over DSL services throughout Montana and Idaho.
BridgeBand, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) based in Bozeman,
Montana, is co-locating the System 1000 in U.S. West central offices to
provide high-speed Internet services to businesses in cities with populations
of less than 200,000. BridgeBand is deploying the Interspeed 500 to deliver
high-speed Internet services to smaller towns and suburbs, and is utilizing
the Interspeed DART in a variety of Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) applications.
According to BridgeBand, they chose Interspeed's single box product family
because of its superior integration, as well as its ease of deployment and
manageability. Because of BridgeBand's aggressive deployment plans, another
critical factor is the first-class service and support provided by Interspeed.
"Since our primary service is offering high-speed Internet access to
businesses and small/home offices, we needed to select a DSL equipment vendor
that can help us make our services successful," said Joe Long, president of
BridgeBand. "After evaluating every major equipment provider, we found that
Interspeed was the only vendor that offers integrated, single-box solutions
that can be easily deployed and managed, as well as high-quality technical
support to address our needs. The architecture of Interspeed DSLARs is robust
and allows us to get the most out of our equipment. As a result, we did not
have to purchase overbuilt systems with features we would never use."
"The DSL industry continues to provide a wealth of opportunity for CLECs
who are looking to expand their services," said Steve Ide, president of
Interspeed. "The Interspeed DSLAR family contains the industry's first
products that incorporate complete routing and switching capabilities in a
single device, allowing ISPs and CLECs to meet the demand for high-speed
Internet access at the lowest cost possible. BridgeBand has been aggressively
growing its customer base by bringing DSL services to smaller cities and
campuses. Interspeed looks forward to developing its relationship with
BridgeBand as it expands its DSL offerings to advanced applications like voice
and video."

About Interspeed DSLARs
The Interspeed DART is the industry's first complete, low-density DSL
solution that enables service providers to deliver high-speed Internet access
and other advanced IP applications to the stand-alone professional office
market. The Interspeed 500 is designed for larger MTU and campus environment
deployments. The Interspeed 1000 is ideal for central office applications.
All three products include complete DSL aggregation, Layer 2 switching, IP
Routing, and VPN functions in a single device, eliminating the need for
service providers to purchase these components separately, saving significant
cost. With these advanced products, Interspeed can meet service providers'
complete DSL access requirements, ranging from a small eight-port application,
to a large campus environment 48-port deployment, to a 192 port Central Office
installation.
The three DSLARs are managed with Speedview(TM); a powerful set of
administration and management functions that makes installation as simple as
"plug and play." Speedview is a management interface that uses an embedded,
secure http server that enables complete system management and configuration
from a standard Web browser. A text-based command line interface is also
available. The application conforms to the Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) to support dedicated network management software platforms.

About BridgeBand Communications
BridgeBand provides DSL connectivity to businesses and home offices for
data communications, Internet services, and video conferencing. Based in
Bozeman, MT, it currently serves Southwest Montana, and expects to offer its
services in most of Montana and Idaho by mid year 2000. BridgeBand also
provides DSL connectivity to existing ISPs at wholesale, allowing the ISPs
customers to retain their existing service provider and still gain the
benefits of DSL -- high speed at low cost and full time connectivity.

About Interspeed
Interspeed designs, develops and markets advanced high-speed data
communications solutions based on digital subscriber line (DSL), technology.
Its products enable data communication service providers, such as competitive
local exchange carriers, Internet service providers, and owners of multi-
tenant units to utilize the existing copper wire infrastructure to deliver
high-speed data access to their customers. Interspeed offers the industry's
only single platform system that integrates the principal components required
to offer DSL service, including signal concentration, routing, switching and
network management. Unlike traditional DSL products, Interspeed's DSL Access
Router can offer customers a highly scalable and flexible solution at a lower
total cost of ownership.
