ATI's RAGE(TM) Mobility Graphics Chosen by Hewlett-Packard for Entire HP
OmniBook 4150 and 900 Notebook PC lines

RAGE Mobility continues penetration of mobile graphics chip
market, bringing desktop equivalent 2D, 3D and multimedia
performance to notebook PCs

TORONTO, Nov. 9 /CNW-PRN/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT)
today announced that ATI's RAGE(TM) Mobility graphics have been selected for
the new HP OmniBook 4150 and 900 notebook PC lines made by the Hewlett-Packard
Company.
ATI is well on the way to becoming the number one mobile graphics vendor,
based on the significant market penetration achieved by the current family of
RAGE Mobility mobile graphics accelerators, the RAGE Mobility M, RAGE Mobility
M1 and RAGE Mobility P. ATI recently announced the RAGE Mobility 128, the
world's fastest 2D, 3D and multimedia graphics accelerator, which brings 128-
bit desktop graphics, in 32-bit color, to mobile computing for the first time.
Matched with the latest Intel(R) Pentium(R)III mobile processors, the RAGE
Mobility M and RAGE Mobility M1 are used with the HP OmniBook 4150 notebook
PC, and the RAGE Mobility M is featured in the HP OmniBook 900 notebook PC.
''HP aims to bring its OmniBook 4150 and 900 notebook PC customers a high-
performance 3D and multimedia solution,'' said Hilary Glann, worldwide
marketing manager for HP's Mobile Computing Division. ''The ATI RAGE Mobility
graphics accelerators provide a powerful, reliable and cost-effective solution
for these features, while meeting the power consumption and size
considerations that are important to HP's mobile customers.''
''The selection of ATI RAGE Mobility graphics in combination with the
latest Intel mobile Pentium III processors give HP's new notebooks the latest
in leading-edge mobile technology,'' said Bill Henry, director of mobile
component marketing, ATI Technologies Inc. ''The unique performance, features,
and power consumption characteristics of ATI's RAGE Mobility delivers powerful
computing wherever mobile professionals need superior performance for
demanding 3D and multimedia applications.''

The RAGE Mobility family: ATI the first to bring true desktop features and
performance to the notebook platform
ATI RAGE Mobility graphics accelerators are designed to deliver industry-
leading 3D, 2D and multimedia performance, and the most optimal balance of
power and performance functionality currently available in a mobile graphics
accelerator, packaged in a highly integrated, space-saving design.
RAGE Mobility accelerators feature a unique 'single component graphics
sub-system solution' that replaces the need for over six individual chips to
provide memory and graphics functions. The single sub-system design results in
important component cost savings, and low power consumption, twinned with long
battery life for notebook computer systems.
