Ian,Doug et al: you have a great idea and I'm interested in participating.A 10K ante is OK with me depending on the company and it's story.

A few ideas:
1)Post a notice of SIG on the "100 Bagger" thread (Stock Talk>Communisations),the people there seem bold, knowledgable and experienced. You might drum up some interest.

2)Have you contacted the Individual Investor.I think they'd love this idea and might have some suggestions if not actual participation.SIG is in the same vein as their Fastest Growing Company's Investment Group

3)From the MAKE NO SMALL PLANS DEPT.: How about a long term goal of particpating in the last stage financing of Teledesic (if it gets that far) as something to grab the SI publics fancy. Its central to the futute of the cyber community.Gates is already involved.Lots of other major players will have to be involved for it to reach the last stages..There is the knowledge present in the investors of SI to assess its progress and possible success or failure . If you believe Moore's Law-computer technology doubles every two years (18 months actually,I believe and Grove's Law*-cable and telephone capacity double every 100 years then what other solution to the bandwidth problem is there but satellites. And if it got off the ground,so to speak,it would be beyond huge In its final stage given the story is intact I coild see putting in 30K or more, wheras I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft.pole after its iniitial offering because the price would be rediculous(Isuspect).

4) At any rate,I think you will get alot more interest once a company and its story is posted or a list of possible companies.

Finally,I congradulate you again on being men of great foresight and determination. Please keep me posted.
