Scimitar Hydrocarbons - Drilling Results Issaran No. 10 Well

CALGARY, Nov. 9 /CNW/ - Scimitar Hydrocarbons Corporation is pleased to
announce that it has completed the drilling of Issaran No. 10, the first well
of its current development drilling program in the Issaran Field, Egypt.
Issaran No. 10 well encountered oil pay sections in the Upper and Lower
Dolomite, Gharandal and Nukhul formations. The well has been cased and the
preliminary log evaluation indicates net pay in the order of 175 feet in the
Gharandal and Nukhul formations.
The Issaran No. 10 well was drilled to a depth of 2,185 feet by the
Egyptian Chinese Drilling Company which took seven days to drill from spud
date to rig release. The well will be completed and tested by mid November,
1999.
The rig will be moved directly to the location of the second well and
drilling is expected to commence within the next six days.
