Eicon Introduces DIVA Connect, ISDN Client Software for Corporate Road Warriors and Telecommuters: Software Reduces ISDN Connection Costs, While Keeping Resource Management Transparent to Users
NOVEMBER 9, 1999 MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA--Eicon Technology, a leading worldwide provider of remote access products, today announced the availability of DIVA Connect. Available immediately, this software add-on is interoperable with standard dial-up routers and servers including Cisco, Ascend and 3Com. DIVA Connect software allows telecommuters and mobile users that utilize Eicon DIVA cards to quickly and reliably connect to corporate resources over ISDN, as if locally attached. DIVA Connect is an ideal alternative to Microsoft(R) Dial-up Networking for ISDN connectivity, offering support for short hold mode, spoofing and Cisco connectivity in callback mode. Users of DIVA Connect can utilize short hold mode to automatically disconnect idle lines, as well as spoofing to make sure that idle connections stay down. In order to further reduce the costs of ISDN service, DIVA Connect also offers inactivity timers and filtering to ensure that physical connections are used only when needed. The transparent management of the ISDN connection totally shields the user from the complexities of ISDN. Other features of DIVA Connect software include: * Added security for D-channel connectivity with PPP callback on Cisco routers * Interoperability with standard dial-up routers and servers, including Cisco, Ascend & 3Com * Support for PPP and Multi-link PPP * Support for IP and IPX over PPP * Support for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0 "Corporate ISDN users are looking to keep their connectivity costs down, while maintaining the flexibility of ISDN for all their business needs," said Ken Gingrich, Eicon's Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales & Marketing Operations. "Eicon's DIVA Connect, with its unmatched interoperability with leading servers and routers is a tool that provides all the necessary features for the corporate telecommuter or road warrior at a competitive price point."
