Ok, so your not taking a political stance as a christian? How about on the street or in the rest of your life? How do you treat gays? How do you treat those of other faiths? How do you react on prayer ion school? Maybe your not out there picketing anybody, but I'll bet you have a 100 and 1 daily acts of discrimination that you never thought about. Final question in that matter is do you grant equal rights to everyone without question? knowing christians as I do, I'll bet you don't. Frankly, your statement about abortion is quite telling. Its your assumption that this practice is murder. Please check the word ASSUMPTION.
As to christian history: Yea the old testimate was "thousands of years ago". But "god never changes" or did you forget that part? The same god that slaughtered yesterday slaughters today and tommorrow. My point, which you seem to have missed is that it was in fact the Isrealites that did the slaughter. "God" had nothing to do with it, anymore than with anything else in the bible. If you believe the bible as "god's word", then again, a thousand years ago or not, how can YOU worship such a being?
Shall I provide an answer? Ok. Fact is, the so called god of the bible does not exist. The bible is nothing more than a book. The story of jesus is half fancy and half history and even that is questionable. The story of jesus has played itself out in 16 seperate religions through out history (predating christianity) and is nothing new at all.
I ask the question to get you to question the line you have been sold.
Lastly: Christian history is full of slaughter after slaughter. To say that those people were not christians is hoplessly missleading and far from the truth. Can you not see the theme of us against them and we kill the loosers which runs through out the entire bible?
