RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 1997--Expanding
its presence in the U.S. reseller market, Cyrix Corporation
(NASDAQ:CYRX) today announced the signing of two top-tier national
distributors, Ingram Micro, Inc. and Tech Data Corporation.

These distributors add to the expanding base of channel support
for Cyrix and allow broader access to Cyrix's processor products.

Ingram Micro and Tech Data will provide resellers with Cyrix
processors in single-unit packaging which gives resellers greater
flexibility in managing their "just in time" inventory requirements.
This allows resellers to build individual systems according to their
customers' immediate demands.

"The signings of Ingram Micro and Tech Data are key to Cyrix's
ability to fulfill channel demand for the 6x86(TM) processor today
and future products tomorrow," said Steve Tobak, vice president

Ingram Micro and Tech Data lend additional credibility to Cyrix's
existing distribution model while also providing complementary
products to benefit individual resellers and ultimately PC consumers.

Cyrix's Direct Connect Program, and the "Reseller Network"
located on the Cyrix Web page, provides unlimited support for
resellers and distributors in training and information. Through
Direct Connect, resellers can obtain information to effectively
design and market Cyrix-based systems.

Direct Connect also manages reseller communications through fax
blasts, e-mail and telephone support, and provides merchandising
support such as point-of-sale materials, promotional items, banners
and literature.
