"Of course, Dell did the cop out and said that after I upgraded to Win98 from 95, they were no longer responsible" dell provides tech support for their hardware and any preloaded software. that means they are on the hook for operating systems they install. that's a pretty big responsibility, imo. it only makes sense that if a user installs a new os, dell is no longer obligated to provide software tech support. that's not copping out. :) mark
