Wire/wireless, everything'll just be a guess at this point. But my guess would be that eventually wireless will win, if only because there are so many countries that aren't wired, and the cost to wire them will likely be prohibitive, so people will invest heavily in developing wireless technologies until they are king.

But, having moved into a new house last year, I can tell you that you won't regret having too many connections, having connections you don't use; you will only regret the connections that you don't have, the ones you can't use. And at the wall-less stage, putting in more plugs costs next to nothing, not even the $500 that Paul wrote of, literally just a few dollars that many builders will be happy to add.
