uncle could today be considered the day gmst set sail across the chasm??
with an expected journey of 5-7 mths at which time they would enter into the bowling alley with 5million epgs with advertising capabilities.
then the tornado either forms or it doesn't. or can it form without the advertising portion on the epgs taking off??
not sure how strong the other facets of their business are. certainly vcr+ applied to recordable dvds will be an extention of the vcr cash cow but certainly not enough to propel gmst into gorilla status.
also of note was henry's comments about not disclosing (not certain of the exact wording he used, but something about having patents but they are a secret)certain patents in parts of europe. this was in response to a question regarding his thoughts on the uk cable companies coming out with millions of set top boxes without gmst guides in them.
thats when henry said that they have not disclosed patents and that once they examined the set top boxes in question they would act accordingly.
could it be that he so shrewd that he is letting them establish the market at their expense knowing full well that they most likely are infringing on their patents.so then when it succeeds, gmst comes in and simply says oh by the way you owe us 30 million in back royalties for patent infringement.
