Do you have an opinion whether to use the int/ext cable or a new card?

The int/ext cable I am using is a monster. It has two plugs for internal devices and then has to loop back to fit the in/out connector on the case. It is designed to work with internal and external devices at the same time. I looked on the Adaptec site and did not see it in their online store.

Can you use both connectors on your SCSI setup? It should say in the mobo documentation. My guess is yes. Generally the cards with three connectors can only use two. The three connector cards may have two internal and one external. You have to choose two of the three.

Which connector are you using now for your harddrives? The 50 pin? Do you have to include the internal harddrive on the same cable as the external Jaz? Or will the harddrives be on one mobo SCSI connector and the external Jaz on the other?

If the cabling is doable I would opt for the existing setup. Why use up another IRQ?

EDIT

I should have read the thread first.. If the mobo onboard SCSI is hard terminated you will probably only be able to use one of the two connectors. This should be noted in the manual.

If this is the case you will need the combo internal external cable like the one mentioned above. Will everything be 50 pin?
