fair valuation ?? i have no idea. but i bet the market pushes intc to 200 sometime this year. it looks like the techs will bounce and maybe the big rally we've all been waiting for will occur. soundview put out its tech sector recommend a few minutes ago without waiting for intc earnings. a good sign. sox recovered nicely after hammerred by nvls, which is a non-issue. my problem is that i dont like the idea of a group of rather young fund managers having played a little game with each other when their funds were hot. as long as they knew that all of them would continue to pour their money into the same stocks (which did have have rather impressive stats) they could beat the averages. of course in this game of chicken anyone who moved away ran the risk of falling out of the elite group of returns. and so they continued to pour the $ in even after warning signs for the networkers appeared. more sensible money left. and they were left holding the bag when these stocks caved in. now, they have net outflows from their funds. what other stocks will they abandon? dont get me wrong, intc is a relatively safe bet, and a very good shot for the longer term, it's just that im heavily invested in selected techs which i believe are bottommed out and i cant afford the risk of intc cracking up even though i believe it will rally to old highs or beyond.
