Ditto. I've been paying bills online for over 2 years, at my credit union. Because I live in Vancouver, Canada there may be small differences between here and the States - but I'm with you: the less I go to the bank (or mail a cheque) the better I like it.
Cost is about $0.50 CDN/$0.33 US per transaction, but it's worth it.
One thing to note is that my other bank offers the same service, cheaper, but they don't offer a means to pay the credit cards of competing banks - so I don't use their service.
Never had a problem, not one.
