I think we know the answer to most of your questions...

1. Kim Scarola and Chalem went to Florida very often. So her being there was not unusual.

2. The Dodge was rented to Lehmann.

3. The contents of the suitcase was never revealed. As the trunk of the car was found open, suffice to say whatever was in the suitcase didn't interest the killers.

4. The son was not taken out of school.

5. The dogs were home at the time.

6. If Chalem was the only intended victim then he certainly wasn't alone. If both Chalem and Lehmann were the targets, then, yes, it was good timing.

7. John Kaye is the Monmouth County Prosecutor. He is based in Freehold, NJ and reportedly has 20 detectives working on the case. Alton D. Kenney is First Assistant Prosecutor. John Heine is the spokesman for SEC. There must have been press conferences because they are quoted in news articles.
