Joel, What will breaking up the company accomplish? I know it will provide self satisfaction for Microsoft haters. Is this a punishment for MSFT, or is this another attempt to help the American "consumer". I really don't understand fervent Microsoft hating. It really escapes me. I actually like and use many of their products, I cut my teeth programming using Visual Basic, which is still an outstanding development tool. This is a fascinating insight into crowd behaviour, and I'm still puzzling over the underlying psychology of Microsoft hating.
