Ken, Maxtor has recently been raising prices on their HDDs. Couple this with Banc of America Sec's "buy" upgrades of some of the majors, and it appears the sector has been awaken from its sleep. Now the momentum players are probably involved and we're seeing a surge. That's my take, FWIW.
