JC, Sun already had Sony on board in a lot of areas, particularly with Jini. I think this spells PARTICULARLY great things to do with MAJC. I think our eyes are going to end up getting really big over this Sun/Sony thing. IMO, If Sun can get GE on board, it would have 10x the impact. Imagine Jini &/or MAJC in every GE device! I Hope Scotty slips in that idea at the next GE board meeting. I bet Sun would not even have to invest (read: buy sales) 5 Billion to do it! This could come pretty close to a natural monopoly, I think just about everyone in a developed country has at least one SONY or GE device in their house, so the (hopefully open) standard would be set. SUN/GE could make appliances with REMON-like ability, so if your fridge was fritzing out, the repair guy would call you for an appt. I dig that. While many of these ideas are years away from making sense on a large scale, I think it's going to happen eventually. Let's just get rich on the way there. JG
