EllieMae, of course I'm happy that you did well with Softbank but as one of the numerous people on this board who love this investment and hardly lose a chance to praise it, I'm a little frightened by your remarks. Remember nobody knows which way the market will go. I know of a really hot stock on Nasdaq which is simply soaring. A colleague of mine knows the chairman who confessed privately to him that he sold half his stock a year ago. NOBODY KNOWS! You could have been looking at Softbank selling for a lot less than you bought it. Stocks like Softbank,ICGE etc. are extremely difficult to evaluate. There will be strong opinions on both sides. The higher the P/E the more it will oscillate in price. The closing price 54,200 compares with 50,000 which is Merrill Lynch's estimate for September 2000 and 55,000 which is Lehman's estimate for July 2000. And Steve Harmon says its fair value right now is $500 but it's selling for more than that. I thought its fair value was 42000; I was wrong about that. But nobody knows; you should listen to those who think Softbank is too high priced also. Of course I'm not selling and hope I won't have to sell for thirty years. But those who post on this board are mostly shareholders of 9984 and most of them are sitting on huge profits. Will it be easy for us to be objective? In the end you have to be your own captain, using all the maps and telescopes you can find. LOL
