Poor management.

Aging technology for point-to-point radio systems.

Financially weak.

Good new technology for point-to-multipoint radio
systems, recently "endorsed" by a big contract
from Winstar. (While the ultimate value of this
contract may be as much as $500M, the share that
P-Com is likely to see is more like $200M.)

Basically, their point-to-multipoint radio is
the one thing this company has going for it.
But, the stock price fluctuates quite a bit
so if you have the stomach for it, this stock
can make a decent trading vehicle. Last Dec
I was looking at this stock at around $3/sh
and was scared away by the looks of some
financial deals they were making, but (with
help from a barrage of company press releases
for every tiny contract they could win) the
stock soared to near $10/sh and some folks
made a lot of money.
