International Hotel/ Motel & Restaurant Show, New York, NY – Darwin Networks, a leading provider of high-speed Internet access, today announced that it has signed a $30 million dollar supply agreement with Elastic Networks, Inc., a spin-off of Nortel Networks. Under the terms of the agreement, Elastic Networks will supply its burst-mode DSL hardware and innovative connectivity software solutions to enable Darwin Networks to provide broadband services in the hospitality market.
Elastic Networks, named the primary supplier for Darwin hospitality awards, will begin immediate shipments of its high-speed connectivity solutions to fulfill Darwin's recent hospitality contract wins to over 1400 properties including Bass Hotels & Resorts, Allied Hospitality Group, Cavanaugh's, and Stormont Trice Corporation. Darwin Networks will also explore Elastic Networks' product portfolio in pending and future hospitality and multi-dwelling unit broadband services awards.

Elastic Networks product portfolio addresses the needs of carriers, enterprises, and vertical markets such as hospitality and multi-tenant housing. Elastic's core suite of high-speed copper access solutions are based on EtherLoop burst-mode DSL technology, which provides multi-megabit access over regular copper phone lines up to 21,000 feet. Elastic Networks portfolio also includes the YesWare software suite, which provides integrated services management including plug and play connectivity without end user laptop reconfiguration, billing, service branding, and system management for both EtherLoop and Ethernet networks."We are pleased to solidify our partnership with Darwin Networks," said Guy Gill, CEO, Elastic Networks. "Our solutions coupled with Darwin's leadership in broadband services delivery are a powerful force in enabling high-speed Internet connectivity in both in-building and carrier applications."
Darwin Networks will deploy Elastic Network's patented EtherLoop-based, burst-mode DSL solutions including the Elite modem and the ELMo family of multiplexers that deliver 4 and 6 Mbps of bi-directional bandwidth based on end-user applications.
