skipper, Jesus give a trick question.
Even w/o explaining it you left out why would someone
want to be with Jesus and yet love Jesus less than a mother.
You are leaving out that you can love your mother a bunch and love Jesus a bunch and it's okay.
Plus Jesus said that to love Him we show that by loving others.
That includes loving parents and kids.
So, read all the srciptures and it makes perfect sense Jesus wants you to love you parents and children to infinity and Jesus to Infinity
and only Jesus can allow that.

You just took the scripture at first glance and didn't put toegther all the other scriptures that have to be true too.
Even mathematically it makes sense and you still don't hate your parents or kids.

So, go fishing again....think alittle more this next this.
