Brown rates the shares of COVAD COMMUNICATIONS a STRONG BUY, with a 12-month price target of $90. The brokerage said the company reported a very strong quarter and increased subscriber growth. It also noted that the economics of DSL service are compelling. It forecasts a loss for 1999 of $2.91 per share and a loss for 2000 of $5.27 per share. For 4Q99 it forecasts a loss of $1.04 per share. The company's shares were trading at $50.12 early on November 8.
