><>....Steve...Here is your ammo.!

" Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...."

Original Intent:

A. Original drafts of the Establishment Clause as proposed in the senate on Sept.3,1789
1..."Congress shall not make any law establishing any religious denomination"

2..."Congress shall make no law establishing any particular denomination"

3..."Congress shall make no law establishing any particular denomination in preference to others."

*Nine other versions were proposed, and the common theme was that the word "Religion"...was basically interchangeable with the word denomination......

B. Founding father Fisher Ames offered the final word of the establishment clause which became part of the first amendment
....1. Fisher Ames, in January, 1789, wrote about his concern that as more and more textbooks were being introduced into schools, that the Bible might someday drift to the bottom of the reading list.....(how insightful)....He warned..."This could never be allowed in America. The Bible must always remain the preminent textbook in our schools"

C.Founding father Benjamin Rush, in 1791, wrote about the need to teach the teachings of the Bible in school above all else.

D. President John Adams, on Oct.11,1798 wrote:
...."We have no goverment armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our constitution was mad only for a moral and religious people."
........There is much more

The founding fathers never envisioned a separation between religious valus and public affairs....They simply wanted a prohibition of a National Denomination.....

Shalom...><>
