HERNDON, Va. and WESTBORO, Mass., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- NETRIX

award-winning Internet Telephony products have been adopted by Sonic
Telecommunications International, Ltd., (Sonic Telecom) as that company's
Voice over Packet Solution for voice and data services. Sonic Telecom, an

additional NETRIX/OpenROUTE equipment to immediately follow.
Based in Chantilly, Virginia, Sonic Telecom provides seamless end-to-end
international multimedia service and billing by the byte for international
broadband communications over its ATM network. Sonic Telecom's state-of-the-
art network is designed and maintained to provide high-speed service for
video, voice and data traffic.
According to Sonic Telecom, Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer
Todd Ruelle, "NETRIX/OpenROUTE's solutions provide a unique combination of
price and performance that allows Sonic Telecom to provide high quality voice
services over our international network. We consider their equipment to be a
strategic enabler and we expect to deploy in excess of $10 million of
NETRIX/OpenROUTE equipment over the next 12 months."
Steven T. Francesco, NETRIX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,
commented, "We are pleased to have our solutions adopted by such a fast-
growing, innovative firm as Sonic Telecom. I believe this represents the start
of a trend of Service Providers merging NETRIX and OpenROUTE technologies that
will be key to delivering new services."
Todd Ruelle added, "We are excited about the new products that will be
coming out of the combined NETRIX/OpenROUTE company. We expect to see
significant requirements for the kinds of solutions that these two companies
can provide."
Bryan R. Holley, OpenROUTE Networks President and Chief Executive Officer
added, "A $10 million opportunity validates the strategy and direction of the
combined NETRIX/OpenROUTE company. The strength of our product sets merging
will provide Sonic and other Service Providers with a growth path for years to
come. If anyone needed evidence as to why NETRIX/OpenROUTE makes sense, this
is it in a nutshell -- and this is only scratching the surface."
