--11:56 am CyberShop looks to catch Pokemon fire
CyberShop.com shares (CYSP: news, msgs) fight 11/16, or 7.1 percent higher, to 10 5/16. The apparel and home furnishings e-tailer announced that it would offer Pokemon-related toys and accessories for the holiday season. The announcement comes after the long-awaited opening of "Pokemon: The First Movie," which opened in theaters Wednesday. This move is an attempt to reap the benefits from this year's merchandise craze, which is expected by some to generate as much a $6 billion in sales worldwide in 1999. The Pokemon phenomenon began in Japan in the early 1990s, and has gained momentum since then. There are more than 150 Pokemon (or "Pocket Monster") characters. Several U.S. companies have seen their market capitalization swell due to the craze. 4Kids Entertainment, which distributes the Pokemon show, commands an $880 million market cap, or about 75 times its projected sales this year. 4Kids (kide: news, msgs) stock is off 6 7/8 at 75 1/8.

Nothing like attracting attention to this stock free of charge. Jack
