Thanks to all the veterans today. When the Korean war ended, I had just finished my sophomore year of college. I knew that those crafty Koreans would start another war by attacking through the Fulda gap in Germany if I did not stop them, so I signed up for the Army and got myself assigned to Germany. I spent from 1954 to 1956 as a "Remington Raider", pounding a typewriter for an Ordnance company. During the time I was there, not one Korean tried to cross through the Fulda Gap! (They knew I was waiting.) This was my contribution to saving Western Civilization, Spud, and I thank you for your acknowledgement of my sacrifice. I know I did not do as much as George Bush,Jr., or Al Gore, but hey, it was the best I could do!
