Induvidual Investor and Standard and Poors recommended this stock until it hit the skids. II is saying that the earnings will not grow 25% for a while. They point out that IFMX has 261 million in cash and value, about $3.50/share. II recommends to hold. (II issue May 1997, page 102) This will be a nice cushion for them to make the changes that management must make to achieve the turnaround. S & P is now rating the CO a 4 star, a drop from the 5 star it has been.
Now my big question: who is the foreign competition? What was the problem that they could not sell overseas? They geared up for it and did not make the headway as the CO wanted to. Was an error made in reading the customer! Again the products are good and eventually they will succed.
