It remains to be seen whether this is a 'meltup' or 'blowoff.' The latter suggests to me at least an intermediate top. The former in my mind suggests that no top is necessarily in sight - prices are just rising for now.

Donald, you seem pretty free to assume what the bulls are thinking. First off, I doubt we'd comprise much of a statistically significant sample on this thread. <vbg>

Personally, yes I do only go long stocks. Shorting makes me uncomfortable, probably because I believe the inherent bias in these markets LT is to the upside. If I'm going to poorly time the market, I'd rather that it bail me out eventually. <g> Yes, I understand that I leave money on the table by only going long, but I am comfortable with my strategy nevertheless.

Of course, the best traders go long and short the market, regardless of their LT views. But I am not a trader, just someone whose zeitgeist the market has rewarded so far.
