most people do tax selling on junk stocks ... stocks that look dead as a doornail and are not expected to come back .... although RICH people ... successful people in the market that have humungus gains can take losses for write off's against gains .... but then, those people have already taken the loss or profit on VUSA tax selling on VUSA therefore is a non-event at this point
