JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBS.MW) -- Cybershop.com shares jumped 6 percent Thursday after the company introduced an online Pokemon toy center to cash in on the cartoon characters' popularity this holiday season.

The online retailer said it will offer an assortment of Pokemon toys and related accessories. Cybershop (CYSP: news, msgs) will also launch a print advertising campaign and give-away promotion that comes on the heels of an animated feature film titled "Pokemon: The First Movie" which opens on Nov. 11.

Jersey City-based Cybershop.com shares rose 5/8 to 10 1/4 on a volume 13 times the stock's daily average over the past three months.

Pokemon toys are based on a widely watched Japanese cartoon show that features cute and cuddly fictitious animals doing battle with each other.

The many characters have spawned numerous toys, and thus the potential for severe parental confusion. To help parents avoid the added complications of choosing from a myriad of Pokemon toys, Cybershop.com has assembled three unique packages covering nine different toys and accessories.

These packages will also allow parents to buy a number of Pokemon toys for a substantially lower total cost than what they would pay for each product separately.

"Rather than having the parents racing around a Toys 'R Us rummaging through the various aisles, we've come up with the packaging plan to make things easier." said Richard Gilbert, Cybershop's vice president of planning and development in an interview.

Cybershop.com operates an online department store that sells designer and brand-name products including apparel, jewelry, luggage, home office, and house wares at discounts.

MM's doing a good job of controlling the volume today. Broke $11 today. 3.6M traded today. Tomorrow will interesting to see if 1M can trade.
