Just Wondering...

Regarding the comment below (3 to 5 year upturn). I've heard this comment so many times on CNBC -- and they never ask the obvious question. What do you base that on?

Of all the semiconductor companies upgraded today, at least LSI has had a recent earnings revision (upward).

My experience has been that when they upgrade without an earnings revision after such a stellar runup...they (Merrill and others) are getting ready to rotate some of their money out of the group into a beaten down sector (say the financials).

Comments (and try to be kind).

LSI Logic (LSI: news, msgs) shares jumped 3 3/8 to 64 1/8 on news of its new price objective of $73 from $62 a share.

"We continue to believe that we are at the beginning of a three to five year upturn in the semiconductor market," Osha wrote in a research note. "In this environment, semiconductor prices have much further to go."
