But isn't it nice to think that, theoretically speaking, we'll have 8 minutes notice?? (speed of light x 93 million miles between earth and Sun).. Actually I think there is quite a bit more notice than that. CME's have significant mass relative to photons, and so travel much more slowly. IIRC, you could have several days notice.
