From an old timer who first bought at 10. Argh. I missed the big ride again, as I wasn't paying attention to the co. and by then the price was 7. Still I can't pull the trigger and buy given all the batterings I've gotten in the past.

Haven't seen any hard numbers from the 2 deals, so the price bump must be 2 things: some entrance from institutional investors and a lot of entrants of hot money/day traders. But what a deal if the Microsoft thing works in the long run. Remember we were talking on this board about integrating the paperport desktop into the os desktop (my pitch was MacOS). They talk about Pagis (is paperport dropped by now). Could Microsoft see the light finally on scanning to a unified universe (still no sheetfed input devises out there for real documanagement)?

Question is what the licencing involves for SSFT. Right now everyone is speculating. Hope it's not one of those scanner hardware bundling type deals with no money or the ship will sink. What I would hope for is that the OCR and desktop thumbnails are included in future releases of Windows. If that is the case, it wouldn't surprise me if MSFT takes a stake sometime down the road.

IMO there's presently a lot of speculative money in SSFT, so be careful. Of course, I was too careful and fully admit it.

Sincerely,
Ben
