OT: No, I wasn't in the Division during WWII, but served during the "quiet period" following the Korean action. Never left the states except to make three jumps in Greenland. However, I was in the Division PIO (Public Information Office) and in the course of my writing for the Paraglide and Ft. Bragg News, I did a lot of research into the Division's WWII history...including a story (didn't keep a copy) of the events you describe. This has been quite a day for me....many personal Veteran messages...each one an emotional tug, and I'm very susceptible to those kinds of things. Thank you very much for passing along your memories, and thank you as well for the part you played in keeping the world free for the rest of us. I salute you.

UF: I really don't care if this is OT....and I don't think there's a G&K thread junkie out there who does either. If there is, his/her objection would be out of place.
