There is not an optical cross-connect being used commercially as of yet...only under "lab conditions"...a newly public company called Sycamore (SCMR) sky-rocketed on its first day because of their optical cross connect which they are developing...and so the race goes on...wouldn't you have loved to own that stock on the day it went public!
