Obviously I have my doubts that VOD of movie clips/trailers or porn will be the killer app that makes an @Home connection compelling. Frankly, I do not believe a killer app is necessary to have ATHM's success continue. The rise in subscriptions will occur because it makes sense. If you can get Internet access for roughly the same price as that of a main stream dial up ISP, but at 10 to 50 times the speed, why would you not do it? You would have to be feeble-minded not to do it (No offense meant to the feeble-minded).

This is not to say that some kind of multimedia feature won't evolve as subscriptions base increases. It is inevitable that web sites will take advantage of the greater bandwidth to present features of interest (see ON24) - let's see what excites comes up with.

Killer VOD certainly will happen down the road but it will come via a set top box. ATHM's role, as far as I know, isn't defined in this realm. Have you an idea how the MSO's plan to administrate and deliver VOD?
