You were a party to defaming an outstanding human being and now that you have dug and dug, you have nothing further to use to defend yourself. You lone to mention the trial of Mike's father and ask if we don't think Mike was also guilty.
Obviously the fine folks who investigated this matter thoroughly did not think so, or they would have at least charged Mike with something. Now, if they did, then I am wrong and will bow out.
The folks who foot the bill for you basher side saddle vigilantes must be tiring of your failure in this instance. I notice that even the great "journalist" has fled the scene ... and wasn't it his article that gave you all the wrong ammunition in the first place.

Either address the issue, or by your silence on the bottom line question, tacitly admit that you were a party to spreading a very serious falsehood ...
