Well it makes sense to me because that is the same thing that I did with Aware. I bought AWRE less than two weeks ago at 31 - immediately wrote Jan 40 calls and gained a 3 5/8 premium for a 40% return if called in Jan. Aware started moving earlier this week and tested 40 - 41 twice. That's when I decided I didn't like being committed to the Jan 40s so I bought them back for 5 5/8 figuring I'll sell the Aware and buy it back and sell it again - or write other calls all of which should make me more than if I'd held it and had it called from me. Although if I could do 40% on every stock every quarter I'd be soooooo happy.

Now I haven't followed Tyco enough to know the stock and have a feel for what it can do or where it can go. I'm long Tyco at 43 11/16 after buying it at 44 last week and selling it at 40 earlier this week (yep, wrong way - I understand). But I'm new to it. I just liked their diversification, split, and what I thought was an over reaction to Tice's article. But hey - I could be totally wrong.

Good luck on the decision you decide to make. Cloudless
