When Brinker was on the Nightly Business Report almost a year ago, on or about May 25, 1996, he admitted that he wasn't a good stock picker. He recommended UTEK and Stanford something. Both of them went steadily downward after his recommendation and his only defense was that if UTEK was a buy at 25 then it was a screaming buy under 20... It went all the way down to 14 in July, then came back with the semis... It got back to 25 about 6 months after he recommended it... My impression is that he thinks the risks associatee with trying to pick individual stocks is a foolish risk.

His newsletter only recommends noload mutual funds, doesn't it. He's always been high on the Vanguard Index fund that follows the S&P 500.
He seems to like the Vanguard and Montgomery fund famiies, the one in Valley Forge and the one in San Francisco...
