I am familiar with technical analysis and formation involved but I must confess I do not know about cup and handle nor ISLAND. But one important observation that I have made in going to different computer stores is the exposure of Apple products has diminished. This is confirmed in USA article. Now, Apple must contend not only with improving its OS but fighting for shelf space. I like Apple and I agree it will fill the gap to 21 and have tough going after that but I don't like the loss of shelf space. It does not bode well. We will see how the market reacts when the earnings come out. IF Apple should jump at least a point then I feel that good news will follow, i.e. sales going well. If it doesn't do much then the bad news has been discounted and market is still out on decision regarding Apple's future. If it should drop over a point then the worse is not over. I'm assuming Apple will report an obvious loss.

This is only one man's humble opinion.
