Wally: Meanwhile, the consumer is primed and ready for the holiday season. He is ready to spend to the max. October market correction? Forget about it. Consumers are back and ready for the green light from the Green Man. Raise those rates, Mr. G. Who really cares at this point? Consumers will run over the Green Man in a holiday rush if he gives the green light. Let's put those productivity number to the test of a massive ramp in GDP. Let's live on the edge, baby.

U of Michigan Preliminary Nov Sentiment Index Rises to 107.7

New York, Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Consumers are more upbeat about their finances and economic prospects so far this month than they were in October, judging from a University of Michigan study.

The university said its preliminary index of consumer sentiment for November rose to 107.7 from 103.2 last month, people with access to the study said.

The index is based on 100 set in 1966. Increases or decreases from that level indicate Americans' degree of comfort with their finances and the state of the economy.

The university's preliminary index of current economic conditions rose to 118.2 from 112.7 in October.

The preliminary November index of expectations rose to 100.7 from 97.1 last month.
