OT Mucho Maas re: LEAPS

I've ordered the Roth book on LEAPS to try and get a better understanding, but your post was a revelation to me. Does this mean that one could make more money with a fewer number of LEAPS that are deep(er) in the money, than with a larger number of far out of the money LEAPS? Forgive my obtuseness, but I have been reading posts about people who are anxious to accumulate the greatest number of contracts. And yet, these same contracts do not seem to go up with the stock at nearly the same rate as more favourably priced LEAPS.
Did I misunderstand? Is the quality more important than the quantity ultimately? Thanks, anna
